Position Summary
The Financial Administrator / Bookkeeper is responsible for the preparation and maintenance of Alden Investment Group’s financial records. This role provides critical support to the Director of Finance and Accounting and the management team through bookkeeping, payroll, banking, and financial reporting.
Under the direction of the Director of Finance and Accounting, this position ensures the accuracy, compliance, and transparency of all financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and has experience in financial administration within a broker-dealer or registered investment advisor environment.
Key Responsibilities Accounting and Bookkeeping- Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries in Net Suite.
- Manage accounts payable — record incoming invoices, schedule payments, and route for approval.
- Reconcile bank accounts, broker-dealer commission statements, and RIA transactions.
- Prepare and maintain monthly and quarterly financial statements in coordination with the Director of Finance and Accounting.
- Support monthly and quarterly RIA billing processes and reporting.
- Prepare audit documentation and support compliance-related financial reporting as needed.
- Assist with bi-monthly payroll processing using Rippling.
- Maintain accurate payroll and benefit records, including taxable benefits.
- Ensure compliance with payroll tax and reporting requirements.
- Reconcile bank statements weekly or monthly, depending on the account.
- Monitor cash flow and cash management activities.
- Manage ACH and wire transfers and coordinate approvals with leadership.
- Prepare regular financial and management reports for internal review.
- Assist with audit preparation and ensure compliance with Net Capital Requirements for broker-dealers and relevant RIA regulations.
- Maintain organized records and documentation for all accounting activities.
- Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or financial administration experience, ideally in the financial services or asset management industry.
- Strong proficiency in Net Suite, Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets)
- Experience with Rippling payroll systems.
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
- Familiarity with broker-dealer and RIA operations and compliance requirements preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
This is a full-time, in-office position based in Wayne, PA. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and adherence to confidentiality and compliance standards.
Salary & Benefits- Salary range of $65k-$72k, depending on experience
