Position Summary

The Senior Financial Controller is responsible for overseeing, executing, and optimizing all internal financial processes and related financial reporting. This role will require autonomous management of the Accounting Department’s key day-to-day operations.

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and Fractional Chief Financial Officer, this position ensures the accuracy, compliance, and transparency of all financial operations and oversight of team members. The ideal candidate is a strong leader and manager with technical experience in financial services, specifically broker‑dealers and registered investment advisors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rapidly gain a comprehensive understanding of all existing financial processes.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership and team to optimize processes and process owners across the Accounting Department.
  • Ensure the Net Suite accounting system and Rippling payroll system are aligned with the current and future process map.
  • Ensure continuous management and improvement of internal processes as the organization continues to evolve and scale.
  • Oversee all financial reporting procedures as they relate to internal management, external audits, ongoing compliance with financial regulators, and tax‑related reporting.
  • Ensure financial reports in the newly‑implemented Net Suite system are optimized for internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Work with the Fractional CFO to streamline FP&A reporting and processes.
Management
  • Assist the Accounting Department in gaining comfort with new systems and processes (Net Suite and Rippling have just been implemented)
  • Work with firm leadership and team to manage the complexities that arise from changes in processes and process ownership.
  • Be prepared to handle multiple tasks at different levels of the Accounting Department as processes and process owners shift.
Qualifications
  • Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 8+ years of accounting and financial management experience
  • Experience in the financial services and/or asset management industry is required
  • Managerial experience (team and processes) is required
  • Strong preference given to candidates with 4+ years of experience in a public accounting firm
  • Strong preference given to candidates with a CPA license and/or any CFA level.
  • Strong proficiency in:
  • Net Suite
  • Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • Google Workspace (especially Google Sheets)
  • Rippling payroll system
  • Excellent knowledge of U.S. GAAP as it applies to financial services and asset management
  • Strong experience with broker‑dealer and RIA operations and compliance requirements preferred.
  • Motivated self‑starter with the ability to take ownership and operate autonomously.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities.
Schedule and Work Environment

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Wayne, PA. The role requires collaboration with internal teams and adherence to confidentiality and compliance standards.

Salary & Benefits
  • Compensation range of $100‑$140k USD per year, plus potential for equity‑based compensation.
