Overview

The primary responsibility of the Benefits Administrator II is to assist with administering and maintaining employee benefits programs. This role ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations and provides guidance and support on benefits and leave related matters.

Responsibilities
  • Administers and maintains employee benefits programs; processes enrollments, changes, terminations, and claims.
  • Coordinates with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants to ensure quality service and contract compliance; supports implementation of benefit program improvements.
  • Ensures accuracy and timeliness of data and records; prepares and files required reports and documents; reconciles benefit invoices and payments and resolves discrepancies.
  • Ensures compliance with laws such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, ADA, FMLA; educates and communicates benefits plans and policies to employees and managers.
  • Assists with benefits-related projects and initiatives; answers Tier 2 employee questions and escalates as needed.
  • Stays current with industry trends and best practices through research and professional development; develops and maintains relevant skills.
  • Performs any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • 2-4 years of experience in benefits administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) or equivalent credential required.
  • Deep understanding of employee benefits programs and compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, ADA, FMLA.
  • Experience in educating and communicating benefits plans and policies to employees and managers.
  • Experience coordinating with benefits vendors, brokers, and consultants.
