ERP Technical Manager D365

Overview

We have been exclusively engaged by a long-standing client, a well-established, consumer-focused lifestyle brand known for its strong identity, loyal customer base, and long-term investment in technology modernization. The company is in the middle of a major ERP transformation, rolling out Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (F&O) as its ERP platform of the future.

Currently, they are looking to bring on an ERP Technical Manager who will play a critical role in ensuring the success, stability, and long-term ownership of the D365 F&O environment. This is an opportunity to join during a pivotal implementation phase, partner closely with senior ERP leadership, and help transition the organization from a partner-led implementation model to true internal ownership.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role with strong visibility, meaningful impact, and room to grow as the ERP footprint expands across brands and systems.

The ERP Technical Manager will serve as the Director of ERP's technical right hand, owning the day-to-day technical health of the Dynamics 365 F&O environment and working closely with implementation partners, functional stakeholders, and internal IT teams.

• Leading technical oversight of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, including environments, integrations, and system performance
• Managing and executing code promotions across environments, including deployment packages and Microsoft release processes
• Reviewing partner-developed technical designs and code to ensure alignment with standards and long-term maintainability
• Monitoring and troubleshooting integrations, batch jobs, and system failures
• Supporting SOX controls, audit readiness, and technical documentation
• Coordinating upgrade planning, testing cycles, and release management tied to Microsoft updates
• Acting as a technical owner and escalation point during go-live, hypercare, and steady-state support
• Partnering with ERP leadership on future ERP expansion and long-term roadmap planning

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Dynamics 365 technical professional who enjoys being close to the system while also thinking ahead about scalability, controls, and long-term ownership. This person does not need to be a pure solution architect, but must be comfortable operating “in the weeds” when needed.

• 4–7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and or D365 Finance and Operations (F&O)
• Recent experience performing code promotions and environment management
• Strong technical understanding of X++, integrations, and D365 development tools
• Experience working alongside implementation partners and third-party vendors
• Familiarity with ERP modules including Finance and Supply Chain
• Experience supporting production systems, troubleshooting issues, and managing incidents
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders

• Experience with Power Platform, Azure Dev Ops, and Azure services
• Exposure to ERP implementations, upgrades, or major rollouts
• Retail or consumer goods industry experience
• SOX compliance and audit support experience
• Power BI or data integration exposure

Compensation: $140,000-$165,000 per year
