The role also functions as an IT liaison, assisting with initial issue triage, technical translation, and follow‑through with IT partners.

What you'll be doing

Central Data Engineering Expertise

* Serve as the primary technical resource for Dataiku initiatives across multiple actuarial and business teams.

* Support citizen developers by advising on scalable and consistent data sourcing, transformation (ETL), and workflow orchestration practices.

* Develop and maintain reusable components, templates, standards, and best practices for data engineering and Dataiku usage.

* Design, build, and deploy Dataiku-based web applications that surface analytical outputs and workflows to business end users.

* Implement and integrate embedded AI and generative AI capabilities within Dataiku, including LLM-powered features, AI Services, and Prompt Studios as the platform evolves.

* Evaluate and adopt emerging Dataiku features and capabilities, serving as the internal subject matter expert on platform advancement.

Technical Design & Governance

* Conduct upfront design and approach reviews for Dataiku workflows and data pipelines.

* Provide architectural recommendations, ensuring solutions follow sound data management, quality, and governance principles.

* Perform process and code reviews to drive consistency, reliability, and maintainability across federated teams.

Business-IT Liaison

* Act as a first line of defense for technical issues within the actuarial department.

* Translate business needs into technical requirements for IT partners.

* Facilitate issue resolution, escalate appropriately, and monitor follow‑ups to ensure timely and accurate outcomes.

Automation & Solution Delivery

* Partner with business teams to convert manual processes into automated, governed workflows.

* Demonstrate new capabilities, conduct proof‑of‑concept work, and help teams understand appropriate tool usage.

* Support continuous improvement efforts across financial reporting, reserve analytics, data preparation, and other actuarial processes.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

* Author and maintain documentation for standards, reusable patterns, and production processes.

* Ensure all changes adhere to proper governance and change management procedures.

What we're looking for

Must‑haves:

* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, other quantitative major or equivalent work experience

* 5-7+ years of experience in data engineering, actuarial data work, analytics engineering, or similar roles.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and mentor non‑technical partners.

* Strong understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data architecture principles, and data quality best practices.

* Hands‑on experience with Dataiku, including advanced capabilities

Nice‑to‑haves:

* FSA or ASA designation, or significant actuarial domain experience.

* Experience building or deploying Dataiku web apps, implementing Dataiku change control practices and embedded AI capabilities as required

* Experience with modern data technologies such as Python, SQL, Spark, AWS, Hive, Tableau, or similar.

* Proven ability to learn new tools quickly, work independently, and lead through ambiguity.

* Innovative, self‑starting mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
