The Role at a Glance
In this leadership role, you will be responsible for leading the execution of IT category management strategies within assigned areas of spend (e.g., cloud, SaaS, IT MSP). You will focus on delivering cost savings, improving supplier performance, and supporting efficient sourcing processes. This role leads a team of IT category managers/analysts and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver cost optimization, compliance, and operational excellence.
What you'll be doing
* Leading and developing a team of IT category manager(s)/analyst(s) while fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture.
* Ensuring team deliverables align with procurement strategies and operational objectives. Supporting the development and execution of category strategies and roadmaps within assigned areas (e.g., cloud, cybersecurity, SaaS).
* Identifying emerging technology trends and assessing supplier landscape.
* Negotiating and managing identified enterprise-level supplier agreements ((MSAs, SaaS, IT MSP, cloud agreements) with tier-1 IT suppliers. Supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise and procurement guidance on sourcing strategies.
* Executing procurement initiatives aligned with corporate objectives.
* Contributing to process improvement and sourcing innovation efforts.
* Identifying sourcing opportunities and closing program gaps with line of business leadership, including evaluating technology Buy vs Build with supporting IT TCO modeling.
* Maximizing savings through strategic sourcing, pricing structures, and rebate programs.
* Implementing 3rd party Technology benchmarking and market intelligence to inform pricing and negotiation strategies.
* Ensuring spend analytics and data governance. Leveraging analytics to support decision-making and reporting.
* Monitoring KPIs (spend under management, compliance, supplier performance) with specific focus on category tail spend management.
* Ensuring adherence to procurement policies a while supporting efficient execution of sourcing processes, operational efficiency, cost optimization, and risk mitigation through contract and supplier management.
* Championing change management for new processes and systems and introduces best practices and innovative sourcing models.
* Maintaining knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assessing the impact, and collaborating with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
* Directing and enhancing organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives.
* Identifying and directing the implementation of process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality across the department.
* Providing subject matter expertise to team members and internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects.
* Providing training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and giving honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
* Directing and evaluating individual/team performance and taking appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
* Establishing and implementing priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure group results.
* Directing and providing leadership to continually improve the capability and results.
* Ensuring that top talent is hired and retained.
* Building organizational capability.
What we're looking for
* 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's) in in business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field (Minimum Required)
* 7+ Years of IT procurement or supply chain experience, including 3+ years in category management or strategic sourcing leadership. (Required)
