We are seeking a DNS Engineer to support and evolve enterprise DNS services for critical business applications across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments. This role focuses on operational excellence, automation, resiliency, and modernization of the DNS platform. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise and a continuous improvement mindset to operate in a high‑availability, enterprise‑scale environment, with a key focus on stabilization, monitoring, and implementing best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain enterprise DNS infrastructure, ensuring high availability, resiliency, and performance.
- Manage DNS zones, records, and their lifecycle across on‑prem and cloud environments.
- Develop and enhance automation for DNS provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Integrate DNS services with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools and APIs.
- Contribute to the evaluation, strategic roadmap, and modernization of the DNS platform.
- Implement DNS security best practices, support vulnerability remediation, and partner with security teams.
- Provide mentorship and guidance for existing engineers and contractors.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to enable application onboarding and migrations.
- 3+ years of experience in DNS engineering or network infrastructure.
- Strong enterprise architecture experience with a platform‑agnostic mindset.
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
- Deep expertise in DDI fundamentals (DNS, RFCs, BIND‑level knowledge).
- Experience with enterprise DNS platforms (e.g., Blue Cat, Infoblox, BIND). Blue Cat experience is a plus.
- Experience with automation tools and languages (Python, REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, routing, and foundational network services (DHCP, IPAM).
- Exposure to cloud DNS services (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, GCP DNS).
- Knowledge of DNS security concepts (DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation, threat detection).
- Experience supporting large‑scale, highly available environments.
- Understanding of enterprise change, incident, and problem management processes.
