Position
DNS Engineer –
Location: WaynePA, Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC – Hybrid.
Duration: 6+ months CTH.
- Support and evolve enterprise DNS services that enable critical business applications across on‑prem, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Focus on operational excellence, automation, resiliency, and modernization of the DNS platform (Blue Cat) ensuring highly available, secure, and scalable name resolution services.
- Operate in a high‑availability, enterprise‑scale environment.
- 3+ years of experience in DNS engineering or network infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of DNS fundamentals (recursive vs. authoritative, resolution flow, zone design).
- Experience with enterprise DNS platforms (Blue Cat, Infoblox, BIND).
- Experience with automation (Python, REST APIs, Ansible, Terraform, etc.).
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking, routing, and foundational network services (DHCP, IPAM).
- Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Exposure to cloud DNS services (AWS Route 53, Azure DNS, GCP DNS).
- Knowledge of DNS security concepts (DNSSEC, DDoS mitigation, threat detection).
- Experience supporting large‑scale, highly available environments.
- Understanding of enterprise change, incident, and problem management processes.
- Maintain enterprise DNS infrastructure.
- Ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance of DNS services.
- Manage DNS zones, records, and lifecycle across environments (on‑prem / cloud).
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and problem management.
- Partner with network, security, and application teams to support business needs.
- Develop and enhance automation for DNS provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Integrate DNS services with infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools and APIs.
- Identify and reduce manual processes and technical debt.
- Contribute to platform modernization initiatives (e.g., hybrid/cloud DNS architecture).
- Implement DNS security best practices (DNSSEC, logging, monitoring).
- Support vulnerability remediation and audit requirements.
- Partner with security teams on threat mitigation and risk reduction.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to enable application onboarding and migrations.
- Provide technical guidance and consultation to engineering partners.
- Participate in change management processes aligned to enterprise standards.
