Regional Director of Operations – Crothall Healthcare – Midwest United States
Salary and CompensationBase salary: $160,000 – $180,000 per year. Yearly RDO bonus potential: $55,000.
Job SummaryThe Regional Director of Operations participates on a management team for the district and provides overall planning, direction, evaluation, and control of units, achieving operational and financial goals. The Director provides guidance and motivation to District Directors, other managers, and associates while establishing and maintaining effective client relationships within the Plant Operations Division.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all accounts within a region to ensure compliance with government and agency standards and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory bodies.
- Attend committee meetings to understand client needs and conduct quarterly business reviews.
- Perform regional director audits twice a year at each client hospital site.
- Support new business initiatives and start‑ups.
- Lead planning, budget analysis, and reporting for the region.
- Ensure consistent and fair administration of personnel policies.
- Manage all aspects of Facilities Management in an acute care setting.
- Drive continuous improvement through strategic thinking and action plan measurement.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, initiative, and resilience during stressful periods.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (required). Master’s degree preferred.
- Ten years of multi‑unit experience in Facilities Management in an acute care hospital (required).
- Experience in P&L management.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Certified Health Care Facility Manager (CHFM) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare building mechanical, structural, and electrical systems.
- Expertise in NFPA, TJC, CMS, DNV, EPA, OSHA codes and regulations.
- Union experience preferred.
- Contract‑managed service experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Extensive travel required (~90% of the time).
- Willingness to reside in or relocate to the Midwest United States.
