Electrical/Electronic Quality & Reliability Engineer Overview / Summary The Electrical/Electronic Quality & Reliability Engineer will focus on vehicle quality and reliability, with responsibility for analyzing and improving quality concerns related to electrical hardware, transmission controls, and interior switches. The role will drive corrective actions, support problem-solving activities, collaborate with quality and supplier teams, and contribute to vehicle quality improvements and program launches.

Key Responsibilities Drive interim and permanent corrective actions for customer quality concerns from warranty, executive escalations, social media, technical hotlines, and other quality sources. Own the resolution of customer-critical issues and support efforts to reduce warranty concerns. Analyze warranty claims, including reviewing claims, contacting dealerships, using connected vehicle data, and supporting parts return and analysis. Categorize claims and track improvement actions using Quality AI IRIS/SIMPSN.

Develop, manage, and own SIMPSN projects to document quality improvements for the vehicle line. Coordinate containment support with quality teams and Functional Quality Reviews. Use internal and external quality data to develop interim and permanent corrective actions for in-plant and warranty concerns. Support Variability Reduction Team activities for relevant subsystems. Partner with supplier technical assistance engineers and suppliers on supplier quality issues.

Identify and deliver current-model design projects with leadership support. Initiate and support WERS concerns and alerts related to design changes and plant trials. Maintain clear and consistent communication with supervisors and peers while managing changing daily and weekly priorities. Collaborate with quality counterparts on shared issue identification and containment. Lead plant trials focused on quality, cost, and supplier improvements. Support resolution of stop-ship/build issues, campaigns, quality issues, ergonomic issues, and First Time Through issues.

Participate in daily quality meetings, biweekly team report-outs, and monthly vehicle quality reviews. Support major and minor program launches. Use DET and FDRS tools to assist with vehicle triage. Apply Six Sigma methodologies to drive structured problem-solving using 8D and 5 Whys. Troubleshoot electrical issues by reading electrical schematics and drawings.

Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree. 3+ years of experience. Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification. Experience driving structured problem-solving using 8D and 5 Whys. Ability to read electrical schematics and drawings.
