Maintenance Engineer/Analyst - Plant Vogtle 1&2
We currently have an opportunity located in Waynesboro, GA at Plant Vogtle 1&2 for a Maintenance Engineer.
Summary of
Job Duties:
Maintenance Engineers are responsible for implementation and support of various maintenance programs; problem identification followed by investigation, evaluation, and resolution; evaluating and implementing industry operating experience; and providing general engineering and technical support to the maintenance teams as needed. The Maintenance Engineers provide support through monitoring of plant equipment and resolution of day-to-day problems during work activities.
Their responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following activities:
- Provide engineering support and direction for various maintenance activities.
- Assist with resolution of emergent issues.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure proper product supply or services.
- Support and participate in cross-functional efforts with other departments to resolve operation and equipment issues.
- Act as a project manager.
- Support the Corrective Action Program.
- Resolve problems encountered by Craft during day-to-day work activities.
- Coordinate with System Engineering and off-site Engineering to resolve equipment problems that are the result of design issues.
- Implement and support various programs.
- Support the Emergency Response Organization.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school or PE license is preferred. Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degrees preferred.
- 2 years of related experience in industrial manufacturing or utility is required.
- 5 years of related experience in industrial manufacturing or utility is preferred.
- Knowledge of air-operated and motor-operated valves preferred.
- Knowledge of welding and ASME code is preferred.
- An ability to solve problems and make sound engineering decisions, based on experience and appropriate industry practices, to make timely decisions to support the maintenance teams.
- Technical writing ability, computer knowledge, good communication skills, and good presentation skills are required.
- Project oversight or supervisory experience is desired.
- Accepts ownership of assigned programs, projects, and tasks.
- Develops strategy for optimum use of resources.
- Manages financial performance to control costs.
- Resolves conflicts effectively to create win/win situations.
- Holds self and others accountable for results.
