Assemble Capacitor Unit Sub-Stacks into insulators. Assemble bellow-flanges, and coverplate/bushing assemblies. Prepare the capacitor unit for the processing oven. Arrange the capacitor units into the oven when scheduled. Run the oven process and conduct the oil filling and thermal cycle process. Unload the oven at the end of the schedule. Fill out log sheets of oven parameters during the processing of the capacitor units.
PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify material you will work with is correct according to your work order.
- Inspect capacitor elements to ensure not damaged or dirty.
- Prep material for assembly... clean insulators and casting.
- Assemble bellow flanges, coverplate, intermediate bushing assemblies.
- Take dry capacitance measurements and record.
- Load the oven with weekly scheduled units.
- Process the capacitor units in the vacuum/oven and monitor the entire process.
- Oil fill the capacitor units and assemble the bellows and top off.
- Take wet capacitor measurements and record.
- Perform the thermal cycle process.
- Unload the oven at the end of the process.
- Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
- Communicate with operators from other shifts.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Help other assembly areas.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.
Working conditions are consistent with that of a manufacturing environment: loud, high-heat, and fast-paced. Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 30 pounds and strict adherence to PPE protocols. Equipment operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses and steel toe shoes; loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Hair that touches the shoulders must be pinned up so as not to touch the shoulder.
