Valid certification to meet State requirements with specific endorsement in the area to which assigned.
Demonstrated professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, parents, school personnel, and members of the community.
Demonstrated success in working with a variety of students.
Alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Job Goal:
To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible men and women.
Performance Responsibilities:
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Hold a valid Virginia driver's license.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas utilizing the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers to handle and feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to adjust focus.
