Waynesboro Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Part-Time Library Program Assistant to help fulfill our mission of connecting our community with information, resources, entertainment, and one another.
At Waynesboro Public Library, we provide quality services, resources, and lifelong learning opportunities through print and digital collections, innovative programs, and welcoming spaces that reflect the evolving needs of our community.
Working under the general supervision of the Circulation Manager and Adult Services Librarian, the Library Program Assistant supports library programming, outreach, and public service for patrons of all ages. This position plays an important role in preparing and delivering engaging library programs while providing excellent customer service and assisting with daily library operations.
Essential Responsibilities:- Assist with the preparation, setup, and delivery of library programs and events.
- Craft creation and preparation for programs.
- Help facilitate pre-planned programs for patrons of all ages, with an emphasis on adult programming.
- Participate in regular community outreach activities including Community in Motion book bus.
- Create attractive in-house displays that promote library collections, services, and programs.
- Provide friendly customer service and basic reference assistance.
- Assist with setup and supervision of library meeting room spaces.
- Serve as backup support for circulation staff as needed.
- Perform other related duties to support library operations.
Tuesdays through Saturdays, primarily afternoon and evening hours. 20 hours per week.
Minimum Education:High school diploma or equivalent. Associates degree or two years college coursework strongly preferred.
ExperienceRequired:
Customer service experience required. Some library, programming, or event coordination experience preferred. Driver's License required.

Compensation:Starting pay is $15.00 per hour.
Employment is contingent upon successfully passing both a drug and background check.
