We are looking for a Staff Test Design Hardware Engineer to develop secure, affordable, integrated hardware solutions for multi‑domain systems. The role focuses on hardware design, integration, and validation within an innovative engineering community.
Roles and Responsibilities- Design creative and flexible hardware solutions with experts.
- Console design and interface panel layout, including interconnections.
- Power, cooling, and RF design, including electronic circuit design.
- Software/hardware integration and requirements verification.
- Investigate, resolve, and document product anomalies.
- Understand design-to-cost, scope, and schedule constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, master’s with 10 years, or Ph.D. with 8 years in STEM fields (additional experience can substitute for a degree).
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience in hardware design, integrated analog/power/digital hardware, panel and cable design, schematic layouts.
- Experience with lab test equipment (e.g., network analyzers, DMMs, oscilloscopes).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
- Experience with automated test equipment (ATE) design.
- Ability to work with minimal direction.
- Lab Windows CVI and C/C++ programming experience.
- Test Stand programming and proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory, high‑speed digital design.
- Knowledge of differential digital interfaces (LVDS, PXI/PXIe) and VME bus experience.
- Experience with schematic design tools (Mentor Graphics, Zuken, Capital, etc.).
- Hands‑on troubleshooting with electrical hardware and software automation.
- PCB layout knowledge is a plus.
- Technical lead experience.
- Active Secret or higher clearance.
