Position:
Staff Test Design Hardware Engineer
Location:
Waynesboro, VA (100% on‑site)
- Design creative and flexible hardware solutions with a motivated team of experts.
- Develop and document console design, interface panel layouts, power/cooling monitoring and control, RF design, electronic circuit design, and software/hardware integration.
- Conduct requirements verification and support investigation, resolution, and documentation of product anomalies.
- Understand and manage design-to-cost, scope, and schedule objectives.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure design quality and timely delivery.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of experience, master’s degree with 10 years of experience, or Ph.D. with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Proven experience in hardware design, integrated analog/power/digital design, panel and cable design, schematic layouts.
- Hands‑on experience with lab test equipment (Network Analyzers, DMM, O‑Scopes).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
- Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design and integration background.
- Experience with minimal direction and guidance, and strong independent problem‑solving skills.
- Programming experience with Lab Windows CVI, C/C++ and teststand.
- Proficiency with digital, analog, RF test equipment, RF theory and high‑speed digital design.
- Experience with differential interfaces (LVDS) and PXI/PXIe or VME bus systems.
- Experience with schematic design tools such as Mentor Graphics, Zuken, Capital, etc.
- Hands‑on troubleshooting of electrical hardware and software automation.
- Experience in PCB layout, technical lead roles, and maintaining an active or higher clearance.
