How You’ll Help Transform HealthcareCarilion Family Medicine
- Waynesboro has a full time APP (NP or PA) opportunity available. The APP will assist physicians and other nursing personnel in the delivery of primary health care and patient care.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assess, plan and provide care to pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
- Perform patient examinations, compile appropriate patient information and documentation.
- Review patient reports and make appropriate recommendations and refill medications.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8-5.
Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing and Nurse Practitioner Program or Accredited Physician Assistant Program.
ExperienceOne year of experience preferred. Additional experience may be required for some specialties.
Licensure, Certification, and RegistrationLicense or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with state regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
Life SupportCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NPR, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.
OtherMinimum Qualifications
- Demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of Carilion Clinic, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies.
- Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the practice and of managed care payors and insurers.
- Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinic’s malpractice insurance carrier.
- Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
- Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
