Human Resources Expert OverviewYou are part of a Human Resource (HR) team who are committed to supporting teams and leaders to build a sales force that is passionate about exceeding guests’ expectations and a place where teams love to work. The role of a Human Resources Expert provides skills and experience of:
• Understanding federal, state and local employment laws
• Using basic Microsoft Office Suite computer and workforce management programs
• Effectively using scheduling software
As a Human Resources Expert, no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:
• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by delivering on the following commitments:
- Greet: 10ft: be friendly – smile, make eye contact, or wave
- 4ft: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm, helpful interaction
- Help guests find what they need and/or resolve issues to ensure a smooth, easy shopping experience
- End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you
• Actively support team efforts and assist peers in other areas while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude
• Adjust to business and guest needs to deliver an easy and inspiring guest experience
• Work with your HR leader to anticipate and address specific talent and staffing needs for each area of the business, ensuring the right mix of experience and skills
• Lead focused recruiting efforts to help store leaders find and hire candidates
• Support team member and leader training needs and be an advocate for continuous learning
• Be an expert resource for scheduling systems and pay practices
• Be approachable and available by listening to team members and collaborating with appropriate leaders to take action as needed
• Deliver on all Human Resources processes and programs to maximize team member engagement and minimize business disruption
• Support your leader in following company compliance policies that mitigate risk to the team member experience
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible
• All other duties based on business needs
You enjoy interacting and helping others – including guests and fellow team members – and thrive in a fast‑moving, highly active, and physically demanding role. You are open to a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times). Essential skills and attributes include:
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology equipment as directed
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly on the spot
• Attention to detail and follow multi‑step processes
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames
• Ability to handle cash register operations as needed
• Capacity to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds without additional assistance
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing certain job duties
• Flexible work schedule; ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
• Ability to come to work on schedule and take required meal and rest breaks
