Full Time Craft - Maintenance WAYNESBORO, VA, US

Salary Range: $34.33 To $36.14 Hourly

The LYCRA Company is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for our Waynesboro, VA manufacturing site
. This position creates value by troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment leading to increased uptime and reliability. Maintenance Mechanics are required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices, and the troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

An Industrial Maintenance Mechanic is expected to:

• Work with pumps, gears, sprockets, pulleys, bearings, seals, piping, and chemicals
• Occasionally work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• Work closely with mechanical engineers and researchers
• Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Participate in Benger activities such as safety meetings, safety audits, and other safety related programs
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment for improved reliability and uptime
• Support the team through respectful and collaborative behaviors
• Maintain highest level of housekeeping standards for the facility
• Perform repairs and other maintenance activities to specified specifications and standards per procedure
• Foster a supportive team environment
• Document work findings and job status
• Work independently as needed

Required Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position OR at least 1 year of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related position with 2 years of training at a technical school or relevant military experience/training in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position
• Must be willing and able to work a normal day-based schedule (8hr day-based; 7:00 am - 3:30pm)
• Must be willing and able to work nights and weekends, if needed
• Must be familiar with OSHA Standards
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment including being fit for a respirator (which requires being clean shaven to ensure respirator seal)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with steam systems and boilers
• Experience working with chemical piping systems
• At least 5 years of industrial experience in a maintenance/millwright related full-time position
• Experience working with SAP

• Must pass a physical abilities test
• The ability to:
  • Sit (up to 1 hour), stand (up to 6 hours), and walk (up to 1 hour)
  • Frequent balancing, twisting, climbing stairs, and reaching
  • Occasional driving (automatic and/or manual), bending/stooping, squatting/crouching, kneeling, crawling, and climbing ladder
  • Work on or with moving machinery
  • Work both indoors and outdoor
  • Occasionally lift up to 70 pounds
  • Occasionally carry up to 100 pounds
  • Occasionally push/pull up to 100 pounds
