Job DescriptionNorthrop Grumman provides opportunities to work on revolutionary systems impacting people worldwide. This role is part of the design community that tackles challenges across Hardware, Firmware, Software, Mechanical Design, Systems Engineering, and Program Management.
The position is based out of Waynesboro, VA and will be 100% on‑site.
Roles and Responsibilities- Design creative and flexible HW/SW solutions with a motivated team of experts.
- Software design: real‑time, pre‑ and post‑processing data analytics, UI/UX design, instrument drivers and utilities, process automation, firmware design for simulation and control, SW/HW integration, requirements verification.
- Actively support the investigation, resolution, and documentation of product anomalies.
- Understand design to cost.
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, Ph.D. with 4 years in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. citizenship required.
- Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience with SDLC.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience with software languages C, C#, C++, Python.
- Experience with SW integration.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Advanced degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline.
- Experience with hands‑on troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLC/HMI software (e.g., RS View, RS Logix 5000).
- Experience with hardware driver development.
- Experience with FPGA programming.
- Firmware design experience a plus.
- Experience with RTOS.
- Experience with Lab Windows CVI or AMAX a huge plus.
- Technical lead experience.
- Active Secret clearance.
