Job Description

As a Project Engineering Technician II, you will work under the immediate supervision of a registered professional engineer and collaborate with site managers and engineers to perform inspection and sampling services. You will collect concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing, monitor contractor activities, and prepare daily reports for the assigned project engineer, including test results and site observations.

Minimum

Job Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2–5 years of experience demonstrating knowledge of construction materials testing services, or more than 5 years' experience in lieu of certifications with appropriate skills.
  • Must have the following two active certifications: ACI-1 Concrete and ICC Soils (or SCDOT/NCDOT Earthwork). Ability to obtain and/or recertify one of the following within three months of employment: ICC Reinforced Concrete or ICC Masonry plus an additional industry certification (e.g., fireproofing) based on managerial discretion.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle driving history for 3 years.
  • Ability to work outdoors on a construction site in all seasons and weather conditions for extended periods, including early morning concrete placements.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently while completing scheduled tasks.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with team members, BLE leadership, clients, and local, state, and federal authorities.
  • Detail oriented and able to work in a time‑conscious, time‑effective manner.
  • Basic knowledge of smartphones and computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, lift (70–85 pounds), and pull full wheelbarrow of concrete on unstable, unpaved ground.
  • Background checks will be conducted as part of any conditional offer, including education, professional registration, employment, references, and global watchlist screening.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and be able to interview on site.
