Job SummaryThe Elementary Teacher (Kindergarten–3rd Grade) is responsible for creating a positive, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment that supports the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development of young learners. The teacher plans and delivers high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, monitors student progress, communicates regularly with families, and collaborates with colleagues to promote student success.
Qualifications Required- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid North Carolina Teaching License (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Experience teaching at the elementary level, preferably Kindergarten through 3rd grade.
- Experience using data to guide instruction and interventions.
- Knowledge of educational technology and digital learning tools.
- Plan and deliver engaging daily instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
- Teach English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and other required subject areas.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, hands‑on learning experiences, and classroom activities to promote student engagement.
- Assess student learning using formative and summative assessments.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on student needs.
- Create a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that promotes learning and character development.
- Establish effective classroom routines and behavior expectations.
- Foster independence, responsibility, and social‑emotional growth.
- Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers, interventionists, specialists, and administration.
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and professional development.
