Job Summary

Shining Rock Classical Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated 4th Grade Classroom Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a positive, engaging, and academically challenging classroom where students thrive both academically and socially.

The teacher will plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, monitor student progress, collaborate with colleagues, and build strong partnerships with families to support student success.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.
  • Develop standards‑aligned lesson plans using the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.
  • Maintain accurate student records, attendance, and grades.
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers, specialists, interventionists, and administrators.
  • Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff meetings, and professional development.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies.
  • Supervise students during assigned duties.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and school policies.
  • Support the mission, vision, and core values of Shining Rock Classical Academy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Valid North Carolina Teaching License or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of the North Carolina Standard Course of Study.
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Preferred
  • Previous elementary teaching experience, preferably in 4th grade.
  • Experience using student data to drive instruction.
  • Experience integrating educational technology into the classroom.
