Registered Nurse Pulmonary Stepdown

Overview

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a registered nurse for our Pulmonary Stepdown unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. The role provides patient-centered care to adults with complex pulmonary and respiratory conditions who require close monitoring in a stepdown setting.

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care.
• Manage respiratory therapies and titrate oxygen and certain medications according to protocols.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient status.
• Perform thorough assessments, administer medications safely, and interpret vital signs and telemetry.
• Coordinate care with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other disciplines.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families about disease management, treatment plans, and discharge needs.

• Registered Nurse with current licensure (as applicable where the role is posted).
• Critical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while upholding safety, compassion, and clinical excellence.
