Compensation

Monthly Salary
Level I (Pay Band H): $3,229.72
Level II (Pay Band H): $3,391.22
Level III (Pay Band I): $3,608.25

Basic Purpose

Positions in this family provide skilled and complex technical support to rehabilitation staff, assisting in the delivery of services to individuals with physical, mental, visual, or blindness-related disabilities.

Typical Functions
  • Provides skilled technical assistance to rehabilitation staff in direct client services.
  • Assists clients in completing applications for services.
  • Arranges and gathers medical diagnosis information and case-related correspondence.
  • Arranges and authorizes services included in approved rehabilitation plans.
  • Processes case data (applications, eligibility data, Individualized Plans for Employment, case notes, closures, and authorizations).
  • Maintains files and transfers case records through the management information system.
  • Performs general office operations and reception duties as needed.
Level Descriptor
  • Level I: Entry‑level responsibilities under close supervision; responsibilities include receiving training on client application gathering and policy interpretation.
  • Level II: Full range of activities; includes coordination of client services, dissemination of information, and general office tasks.
  • Level III: Specialist level; includes technical management of caseload, follow‑up on client progress, and potential team‑lead responsibilities.
Education and Experience
  • Level I: One year of experience in office technical clerical work.
  • Level II: Two years of technical clerical work or equivalent education and experience.
  • Level III: Two years of technical clerical experience plus one year in a vocational rehabilitation program, or a bachelor’s degree in related fields with required experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies
  • Basic computer functions, spelling, punctuation, grammar, arithmetic, and familiarity with office and agency policies.
  • Effective and courteous interpersonal skills, good judgment, and ability to present ideas clearly.
  • Knowledge of rehabilitation services and programs; casework management at higher levels.
Special Requirements
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language may be required (competency test).
  • Must be willing and able to perform job‑related travel.
  • Some positions are safety sensitive as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain physical and scanned files per agency standards.
  • Process case information accurately and timely through the client data system.
  • Assist VR Specialists with case management phases (applications, interviews, diagnostic gathering, reports, verifications).
    Send case‑related correspondences.
  • Perform general office and reception duties and obtain information for referrals.
  • Willing to perform all required travel.
  • Complete trial period if applicable.
Background Check
