Job Description Summary
Manage closing shift in library (2:30pm-7:00pm). Greet patrons and answer questions at Circulation Desk. Assist with check-in/check-out of library materials. Assist Patrons with use of computers and printing. Supervise student worker and assigned tasks. Assist in shelving books, inventory, shelf reading and other projects as assigned.
Required Education- Minimum of – High Scool Diploma or GED equivalent
- Customer service experience in an office, educational, or retail environment
- Basic computer competence with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel
- Associates degree
- Previous library experience
- Basic competency with Macs
- Familiar with Library of Congress Classification (LCC)
- Assist patrons with logging onto computers, setting up print accounts through Paypal/Papercut, and printing documents (Word, PDF, Excel, etc.)
- Manage basic circulation desk tasks (check-in/check-out of library materials, payment of fines, and resolution of patron accounts) using OCLC WMS.
- Manage closing shift Monday-Thursday (2:30pm-7pm) during academic year (late August – early May).
- Supervise student worker and assigned tasks.
- Answer phone calls at Circulation desk.
- Shelve books as needed and perform shelf-reading as assigned.
- Assist with scanning library materials for annual inventory.
- Use Trac Cloud to clock-in/clock-out to track shifts for biweekly timesheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Use of video display (computer monitor) to perform job duties

- Lift up to 20 lbs – Occasional (move books/supplies)
- Bend/stoop – Occasional (Search and retrieve library materials from shelves)
- Kneel/squat – Occasional (Scan items for inventory, search and retrieve library materials)
- Reach – Occasional (Scan items for inventory, search and retrieve library materials)
- Push/pull 21-50 lbs – Occasional (push/pull carts of library materials around library)
