Part-time Staff-Public Safety Technician

Position SummarySkills technicians assist with skills instruction within Public Safety Professions programs (Fire, LEA, EMSP) or provide administrative and technical support for the department’s instructional and clinical operations. Administrative technicians provide administrative and technical support for the department’s instructional and clinical operations.
Required Education- To assist with skills – EMT Certification or comparable training
- For administrative support – High School Diploma
- Skills technician position: 1 year experience with a paid or volunteer Fire/EMS/Police department.
- Administrative technician position:
Experience with Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), written and oral communication, customer service, and office skills.
- Associate degree in a related field, Instructor certification in a related field.
- 1 year of experience working in an office environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills Technician:
- Assist with skills training, assess skills competency of students, and act as a participant during scenario training.
- Assist students in the classroom with skills under the direction of an adjunct paramedic with at least 3 years of experience or the Coordinator.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.
Administrative Technician:
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and maintaining student records.
- Coordinate and track student paperwork to ensure accuracy and compliance with program and accreditation requirements.
- Support student onboarding by preparing orientation materials, verifying documentation, and assisting with background checks, immunization records, and certifications.
- Assist with clinical site coordination, including scheduling student rotations and maintaining communication with clinical partners.
- Help manage and organize lab and classroom materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Provide general office support such as answering phones, responding to student inquiries, and assisting faculty with administrative needs.
- Maintain confidentiality of student and institutional records.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations and student success.
