Job Summary

The TxDOT Fort Worth District
- Weatherford Area Office is searching for a Construction Recordkeeper I or II to join our team. The role involves maintaining accurate construction records, verifying work reports, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and supporting supervisors and field crews.

Salary and Schedule
  • Construction Recordkeeper I: A16, $40,918 - $61,130 annually
  • Construction Recordkeeper I: A18, $45,521 - $71,055 annually
  • Pay Basis:
    Yearly
  • FLSA Status:

Responsibilities
  • Maintain construction project records and related paperwork.
  • Review and modify contract documents to reflect changes to the original agreement.
  • Monitor records to verify compliance with state and federal laws and determine payments due to contractors for work completed.
  • Coordinate with construction inspectors and contractor staff to ensure project records accurately reflect changes and agreements.
  • Attend pre‑construction meetings to instruct contractor bookkeepers on record‑keeping procedures.
  • Monitor contractors' compliance with federal requirements related to EEO and wages.
  • Monitor on‑the‑job training and DBE, HUB, SBE programs; submit monthly reports.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and final estimates; verify work logs before payment.
  • Compose, review, and maintain correspondence, reports, supporting documents and files.
  • Process change orders, supplemental agreements, and extra work orders.
  • Maintain filing structure for each construction project within assigned area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties for Construction Recordkeeper II
  • All duties of Construction Recordkeeper I plus additional oversight responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Education
    :
    High School Graduate or equivalent in general education.
  • Experience
    :
    No experience required for Level I; 1 year record‑keeping or related experience for Level II.
  • Licenses and Certifications
    :
    Valid driver’s license; position requires driving a state vehicle.
  • Knowledge
    :
    Governmental policies and procedures; equal employment opportunity guidelines; DBE, HUB, SBE; higher mathematics.
  • Skills
    :
    • Analyzing issues, facts, and available information to develop logical solutions.
    • Writing, reviewing, and revising documents.
    • Using standard office equipment and computer applications.
    • Preparing and maintaining confidential records.
    • Communicating technical information effectively.
    • Maintaining safe working relationships.

  • Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others.
  • Performing calculations using algebra, trigonometry, and geometry.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Sedentary work; lift up to 10 lbs occasionally.
