Adjunct instructor teaching courses within the Workforce Education Health Professions programs. Rate of pay dependent upon education/experience.
Required EducationMinimum education:
Associate’s degree and/or a minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of study. Must hold an active Clinical Medical Assistant certification and/or LVN or RN license.
Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required ExperienceIndividual will have at least one year of experience in a healthcare environment, preferably a clinic, urgent care, or hospital setting. Teaching experience preferred.
Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree. LVN or RN with a minimum of five years in nursing experience within a healthcare environment.
Preferred ExperienceIndividual will have multiple years of nursing experience and have experience in teaching adults from different backgrounds in a classroom setting.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach courses in the assigned discipline. Maintain familiarity with and adhere to college policies and procedures. Maintain good rapport with students. Flexibility in schedule to teach day/evening/weekend classes. Ensure students are prepared for National Health career Association certification exam. Provide hands‑on training in clinical lab skills including general patient care, vitals, EKG, basic phlebotomy, and office support skills. Administer and grade student assignments and exams.
Provide necessary reporting to the college. Check on student progress throughout externship. Perform other duties as assigned.
