Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face-to‑face, hybrid, online, or within the context of dual credit instruction.
All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Teach accounting courses at a variety of times and locations. Primarily teach first and second‑year courses in the accounting transfer and workforce program within the Business Department. The instructor will be responsible for teaching courses such as Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Introduction Accounting, Introduction to Computerized Accounting, Accounting Internship, Computer Accounting Applications, Cost/Payroll Accounting.
This position will require the use of instructional technology within the curriculum and in the classroom. As needed, teach business courses in the transfer and workforce program areas. Contribute to the development, review, assessment, and maintenance of accounting and business classes. Assist in recruitment, retention, advisement, and graduation of students.
Required EducationAll faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required Experience(1) Master’s Degree in Accounting or (2) Master’s Degree in Business or business‑related field WITH a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
Preferred EducationCPA is preferred. College teaching or training experience is preferred.
Preferred ExperienceFamiliarity with computer-assisted/multimedia instruction and online learning management systems is preferred (e.g., Canvas, Zoom, Microsoft Teams).

May require evening, night, and/or weekend teaching assignments with synchronous or asynchronous student sessions as required. Maintain accurate records of students and complete forms as required. Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations and submit grades by established deadlines. Spend extended periods grading assignments and participation, providing timely and prompt feedback. Assess course(s) taught for continuous improvement.
