Position Summary

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students in and outside the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual credit). All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.

Required

Education

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline.

Required Experience

5 years of full‑time clinical experience in an acute care facility that is contracted with Weatherford College Respiratory Care, including 3 years of full‑time critical care experience.

Required Credentials
  • Current RRT credential issued by the NBRC
  • Current RCP issued by the Texas Medical Board
  • Current BLS and ACLS issued by the AHA
  • AARC member

Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers, and public groups; treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based upon age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity;

exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
