Position Summary

Job Description Summary
The primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes, and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom. Courses may be face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit. Hours vary by need and schedule.
Required EducationAssociate degree plus 2‑5 years experience, Bachelor’s degree plus 6‑10 years, Master’s plus 11‑15 years, Doctorate plus 16+ years, or equivalent credentials. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required ExperienceExperience in programming appendage and/or wheeled/legged robotics.
Preferred EducationBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Automation, or similar, and/or equivalent. Relevant experience in programming of Fortran, Python, Raspberry Pi, ROS, C++ is preferred.
Preferred ExperienceExperience programming robotics for automation integration in both programmed and autonomous applications, including AI.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline and facilitate student acquisition of learning outcomes.
- Mentor students in and outside the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in all modalities.
- Adhere to college policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction in traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to communications promptly.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades on time.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Be available to students by appointment.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
- Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete any required training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

The faculty member must be able to instruct in all modalities, achieve course objectives, create a professional learning environment, communicate effectively, treat all persons with respect, uphold professional and ethical standards, and observe college policies.
