PositionSummary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool that is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as-needed basis.

All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students in and outside the classroom. Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Faculty provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications promptly.
Assessment of student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely fashion, is required. Faculty maintain ethical and professional behavior, are available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, complete any required training, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that achieves the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups;
ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination by age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation or gender identity; ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; and ability to observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
