Job SummaryPrimary duties of a full‑time faculty member include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, recruiting, advising, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. The faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, be they face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual credit instruction.
Full‑time faculty members are also responsible for participation in professional development activities, serving on college committees, developing and updating curriculum, selecting textbooks, equipment, and instructional materials. Faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to college policies and procedures.
- Teach courses in mathematics and related areas, including internet and dual credit courses, as well as graduate level statistics courses.
- Develop and deliver curriculum and instructional materials for face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Facilitate student acquisition of learning outcomes and provide advising, mentoring, and recruitment support.
- Participate in professional development activities, serve on college committees, and contribute to curriculum development and updates.
- Maintain a professional learning environment and adhere to college policies and procedures.
All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) academic, oral, and written English proficiency requirements. Full‑time faculty must demonstrate willingness and ability to teach day, evening, and/or weekend classes in various modalities.
Required
Education:
Ph.D. in Mathematics or related discipline.
Preferred Education:
Advanced degrees in related field.
Required Experience:
Experience in teaching internet mathematics courses and dual credit courses.
Preferred Experience:
Graduate level statistics courses.
