This continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position will add the applicant to a pool for consideration when a need arises in the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis. Should your qualifications be reviewed positively, you will be contacted.
Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned, which may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction.
Hours vary depending on the need and course schedule and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. Faculty are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior.
- Be available to students by appointment.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings.
- Assess courses at departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training and other duties as assigned.

- Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Provide instruction that will achieve specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses.
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers, and public groups.
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, without discrimination.
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Observe College policies and procedures.
All faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
Required ExperienceMinimum 4 semesters college-level studio art experience in painting class(es) with enrollment of traditional and non-traditional age and demographic student representation.
