Job Description Summary
- Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction.
Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
Required Education
- All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study;
Bachelor's degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study;
Master's degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study;
Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
Required Experience
- Experience developing culinary education, curriculum planning, development, evaluation and testing. Advanced level knowledge in food preparation and culinary education. Three or more years of teaching or training experience in culinary arts.
Preferred Education
- Associate or Bachelor of Culinary Arts Degree.
Preferred Experience
- Three plus years of work-related experience, preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner. Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
Maintain ethical and professional behavior. Be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings. Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels. Complete any required training. Other related duties, as assigned.
