Job Description Summary
- Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned.

Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. The clinical faculty must participate in instructing students during clinical experiences and evaluating student achievement.

Clinical Instruction: supervise/instruct students at the Clinical Sites once a week; performing venipuncture as needed. Maintain documentation of student progress, grades, and other required paperwork. Supervise students at Health Fairs, performing venipuncture as needed. Didactic:
Instruct students in the classroom and student laboratory in phlebotomy and waived testing.

Required Education
- All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application. Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study;
Bachelor's degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study;
Master's degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study;
Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study. Clinical instructors must provide current certification in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory science, or have one year of full time phlebotomy experience. Didactic faculty must provide an associate degree or higher, or 60 college credit hours from an accredited institution, or an equivalent combination of education and experience with a minimum of 30 college credit hours and 3 years of relevant teaching experience.

They must also provide current certification in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory science and document continuing education hours (2.0 CEUs or 20 hours) in phlebotomy, clinical…
