Job Description Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, as well as mentoring students inside and outside of the classroom.
The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned. Teaching modalities may be face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction. Hours vary, depending on the need and course schedule, and may include day, evening, and/or weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
RequiredEducation
All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
- Associate degree and/or 2-5 years work experience in the field of study.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or 6-10 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
- Master’s degree and/or 11-15 years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
- Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience in the field of study and/or credentialed in the field of study.
Applicant must have experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including theory, design, and building of systems, as well as troubleshooting and maintenance.
PreferredEducation and Experience
Minimum of 5-years experience in working with Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems.

All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures. Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation. Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner. Assessment of student performance; including submission of final grades in a timely fashion.
Maintain ethical and professional behavior. Be available to students by appointment. Attend adjunct faculty meetings. Assess courses on departmental and institutional levels. Complete any required training. Other related duties, as assigned.

- Instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses;
- Provide instruction that achieves the goals and objectives of all assigned courses;
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory;
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups;

- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources;
- Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
