Overview
Weatherford College periodically has openings for adjunct instructors. Qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for a continuous recruitment adjunct faculty pool within the department. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool on an as-needed basis for the academic year. If a review of qualifications results in pursuing candidacy, you will be contacted.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline and facilitate student achievement of the identified learning outcomes for assigned courses.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment across modalities, which may include face-to-face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction.
- Adhere to College policies and procedures.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non-traditional learning modes; engage in instructional preparation; provide timely feedback to students; respond to student communications promptly.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion; uphold ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment; attend adjunct faculty meetings; assess courses at departmental and institutional levels; complete any required training; perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards, normally including a Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses must be submitted with the application. - Must provide an earned Master’s Degree or higher in Education.
- Must provide a valid Texas teaching license and certification.
- Minimum of three years of public teaching experience with students in early childhood through 6th grade.
Education and Experience
- Experience teaching Education courses at the college level is preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to instruct in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; achieve the goals and objectives of all assigned courses.
- Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to communicate with students, college personnel and administration, peers, and public groups.

- Commitment to professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources; adherence to College policies and procedures.

This position is designated as a security-sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
