Must hold a valid license to practice nursing in the state of Texas, with no current disciplinary action. This position will work no more than 19 hours per week.
Position Summary
This part‑time adjunct instructor will teach vocational nursing courses within the department and coordinate lab activities. The role includes instruction in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, and dual‑credit modalities, mentoring students, maintaining learning environments, and ensuring adherence to college policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach assigned vocational nursing courses and lab sessions.
- Develop and deliver instructional materials aligned with learning outcomes.
- Provide timely feedback and grade assignments promptly.
- Mentor students in and outside the classroom.
- Participate in adjunct faculty meetings and departmental meetings.
- Complete required training and maintain ethical professional behavior.
- Adhere to all college policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Valid RN license in Texas with no disciplinary action.
- Minimum of 3 years actively employed in clinical nursing.
- Associate degree or higher with relevant work experience (2–5 years associate level, 6–10 years bachelor level, 11–15 years master level, 16+ years doctorate level).
- Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses.
- Strong communication, organizational, and student‑centered instruction skills.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience with lab simulations.
- Higher academic credentials (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate) with teaching experience.
- Security‑sensitive position; requires satisfactory criminal history background check.
- Eligible males 18‑25 must be registered with the Selective Service System.
