Job Description Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain effective learning environments in modalities such as face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction.
- Develop and facilitate engaging course content, assess student progress, and provide timely feedback.
- Guide students in applying financial principles to real‑world healthcare settings.
- Deliver synchronous and asynchronous lectures and discussions on healthcare finance topics.
- Develop and manage course materials, including syllabi, readings, and assignments.
- Assess and evaluate student performance based on coursework and participation.
- Provide timely feedback and support to students.
- Stay current in healthcare finance trends and integrate real‑world examples into lessons.
- Participate in online faculty meetings and contribute to curriculum development when required.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes, respond to student communications promptly, and submit final grades in a timely manner.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, and complete any required training.
- Earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the discipline per Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards.
- Provide transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses with application.
- Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field is typically required.
- Significant experience (3–5 years) in healthcare finance or a related area such as healthcare administration, financial management, or accounting within healthcare organizations.
- Previous teaching experience in higher education, particularly in healthcare finance or related subjects; online teaching experience is often specifically required.
- Experience using online education platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, or Moodle for course delivery, assessment, and student engagement.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effectively delivering course content and engaging with students in an online environment.
- Doctorate degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced experience (5+ years) in a senior financial management role within healthcare (e.g., CFO, Director of Finance).
- Proven track record of teaching courses online, preferably in the healthcare finance discipline, with evidence of successful student outcomes and positive teaching evaluations.
- Experience developing course content or curriculum, particularly in healthcare finance or related subjects.
- Awareness of the latest developments in healthcare economics, policies, and finance to ensure course material is up to date.
- Experience working with adult learners, particularly in professional or graduate programs.
- Certifications or additional training in online teaching methodologies or educational technology.
