Job Description Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

- Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of specific learning outcomes.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction.
- Engage in instructional preparation and timely feedback to students.
- Respond to student communications promptly.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior; treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination.
- Be available to students by appointment; attend adjunct faculty meetings.
- Assess courses at departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training and any related duties, as assigned.
All faculty members must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards, which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with the application.
Required ExperienceProfessional experience in performance and academic venues.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Ability to provide instruction that achieves specific goals and objectives of assigned courses.
- Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Effective communication with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups.
- Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination based on protected characteristics.
- Ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Ability to observe College policies and procedures.
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
