Adjunct (workforce/continuing/developmental education)
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment would add the applicant to a pool which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration in case a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

Teach courses in the approved discipline and provide instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses. Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom. Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or within the context of dual credit instruction). Provide timely feedback, respond to student communications, and assess student performance, including submission of final grades in a timely manner.
Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, complete required training, and perform related duties as assigned. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.
All faculty members must possess minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for faculty teaching courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion. These standards include an appropriate academic degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses must be submitted with application. Associate degree and/or 2‑5 years work experience in the field of study;
Bachelor’s degree and/or 6‑10 years work experience;
Master’s degree and/or 11‑15 years work experience;
Doctorate degree and/or 16+ years work experience or credentialed in the field of study.
Knowledge and experience in electronics: electricity, micro‑switches, solenoids, AC/DC motors and motor controls, automation controls, logic, electrical troubleshooting and use of troubleshooting devices such as multimeter, ammeter, oscilloscope, infrared thermography, etc.

Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; ability to provide instruction that will achieve the specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses; ability to create a professional and effective learning environment; ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups; ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice;
ability to exercise the highest professional and ethical standards and to observe College policies and procedures.
This position is designated as a security sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
