Adjunct Instructor - Cybersecurity/Networking

Position SummaryWeatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applicants who are selected will be added to a pool from which the hiring manager will draw as needed when openings arise.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Teach courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of the specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit).
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to student communications in a timely manner.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior, be available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses on departmental and institutional levels, complete required training, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Education:
A master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field with 18 graduate semester credit hours in Computer Science is required. Transcripts, certificates, and/or licenses must be submitted with the application.
Experience:
Two (2) or more years of non‑teaching industry experience and two (2) or more years of teaching experience in Cybersecurity or Computer Science fields.
Skills and Abilities
Each adjunct faculty member must be able to:
- Instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Provide instruction that achieves the specific goals and objectives of all assigned courses.
- Create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory.
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel and administration, peers and public groups.
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity and justice, without discrimination based on age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Observe the stated policies and procedures of the College.
