Job Overview
Assists with skills instruction within health science programs and administrative duties under the direct supervision of the Program Director. The position is a continuous recruitment adjunct faculty role.
Required Education- Graduate of a two‑part, structured phlebotomy program (didactic & laboratory, and clinical training) and current phlebotomy certification recognized by NAACLS.
- Must meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for teaching workforce certificate or degree completion courses.
- Transcript, certificates, and/or license must be submitted.
- Associate degree and/or 2‑5 years work experience in the field;
Bachelor’s degree and/or 6‑10 years experience;
Master’s degree and/or 11‑15 years;
Doctorate and/or 16+ years.
Minimum 100 hours of clinical experience in the field and current phlebotomy certification recognized by NAACLS.
Preferred EducationGraduate of a formal, two‑part phlebotomy program and current phlebotomy certification recognized by NAACLS.
Preferred ExperienceMinimum 100 hours of clinical experience; graduate of an accredited phlebotomy program; current certification recognized by NAACLS.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assist with skills training and lab duties assigned by the Program Director.
- Teach courses in the approved discipline, facilitate student acquisition of learning outcomes, and mentor students.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, or dual credit instruction.
- Provide instruction in traditional and non‑traditional learning modes; engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to communications promptly.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades in a timely fashion.
- Maintain ethical and professional behavior; be available to students by appointment.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings; assess courses at departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training and other related duties as assigned.
