Overview
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applicants who apply are added to a pool that the departmental search committee can consult when a need arises for the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as‑needed basis.

- Teach courses in the approved discipline, ensuring students acquire the learning outcomes for assigned courses.
- Mentor students inside and outside the classroom.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, dual credit).
- Provide instruction in traditional and non‑traditional learning modes and engage in instructional preparation.
- Provide timely feedback to students and respond to communications.
- Assess student performance and submit final grades promptly.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings and complete required training.
- Adhere to College policies and procedures, maintain professional behavior, and observe institutional ethical standards.
- Must possess mandatory Southern Association of Colleges and Schools credential standards for courses designed for workforce certificate or degree completion.
- Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with application.
- Associate degree + 2‑5 years of work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree + 6‑10 years of work experience or credentialed in the field of study.
- Master’s degree + 11‑15 years of work experience or credentialed in the field of study.
- Doctorate degree + 16+ years of work experience or credentialed in the field of study.
- Experience in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including understanding of how to connect logic between systems in industrial automation—electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Five years of experience in PLCs.
- Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Ability to deliver instruction that achieves specified learning goals and objectives.
- Ability to create a professional and effective learning environment in classroom and laboratory settings.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and the public.
- Ability to treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice; maintain non‑discriminatory practices.
- Ability to maintain the highest professional and ethical standards in use of College time and resources.
- Ability to observe College policies and procedures.
- Position is security sensitive and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
- Males aged 18‑25 must be registered with the Selective Service System.
