Job Description Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. Applying for an adjunct appointment adds the applicant to a pool, which is available to the departmental search committee for consideration if a need arises during the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool of applicants on an as needed basis.

- Teach courses in the approved discipline using face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit modalities.
- Create and maintain an effective learning environment that supports student acquisition of specific learning outcomes.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes, including assessment of student performance and timely feedback.
- Mentor students inside and outside of the classroom and be available for appointments.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings and assess courses at departmental and institutional levels.
- Complete required training and any additional duties as assigned.
- Associate degree and 2–5 years work experience in the field of study; or
- Bachelor’s degree and 6–10 years work experience; or
- Master’s degree and 11–15 years experience; or
- Doctorate degree and 16+ years experience.
- Minimum five years of salon experience.
- Minimum three years of instructor experience.
- Must have experience with SHEARS, online services, and TDLR.
- Experience in everyday salon operations and classroom instruction.
- Copies of certificates/license must be submitted with application.
- Barber License
- Ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses.
- Ability to achieve specific course goals and objectives.
- Ability to create a professional learning environment.
- Effective communication with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups.
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice; non‑discriminatory practices.
- Exercise high professional and ethical standards.
- Observe college policies and procedures.
- Position requires a satisfactory criminal history background check.
- License status must be current; stay up‑to‑date with TDLR administrative rules, regulations and laws.
- Males aged 18–25 must be registered with the Selective Service System.
