Graduate Assistant - Pharmacy Alumni Development Office Job Description
The Pharmacy Graduate Assistant will assist the Alumni Development Office for the College of Pharmacy with coordinating and fulfilling endeavors that enhance pharmacy advancement including alumni engagement and student recruitment. The Graduate Assistant will gain essential work and educational experience, along with knowledge for a career path needed to obtain full-time employment in their chosen field. These tasks are to be performed in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Job Duties- Assist in communicating effectively with pharmacy alumni and encouraging them to stay involved with the SWOSU College of Pharmacy, thus supporting accreditation standards.
- Contribute to the College of Pharmacy’s Strategic Plan, specifically with endeavors to improve communication and the reach of the pharmacy job board to students and recent graduates of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
- Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of the SWOSU College of Pharmacy.
- Coordinate with College of Pharmacy Dean and Pharmacy Alumni Director on initiatives to enhance pharmacy advancement including alumni engagement and student recruitment.
- When appropriate, attend meetings and workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Eligible to receive a tuition waiver and stipend each semester
- A Graduate Assistant should be working at a higher level than an undergraduate student employee. For example: teaching/instructing undergraduates in or out of the classroom as assigned, critiquing/grading undergraduate work/skills, etc.
- Employment at will
- Safety and job-related trainings will be completed as instructed
- Reports to Pharmacy Alumni Director and/or the College of Pharmacy Dean
- Bachelor’s degree completed
- Admission and enrollment in a graduate program at SWOSU
- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
