Position SummaryWeatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. All qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for this continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position within the department. An applicant will be added to a pool for consideration when a need arises during the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool on an as‑needed basis.
Primary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, facilitating student acquisition of specific learning outcomes, and mentoring students inside and outside the classroom. The adjunct faculty member creates and maintains an effective learning environment in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual‑credit instruction. Hours vary depending on need and may include day, evening, and weekend instruction. All faculty members are expected to maintain familiarity with and adhere to College policies and procedures.

- Minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards, which normally include an earned Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline.
- Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with the application.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or a Master’s Degree in Business or a business‑related field with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Minimum of five years of accounting experience.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- College teaching or training experience.
- Familiarity with computer‑assisted/multimedia instruction and online learning management systems such as Canvas, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams.
- Teach accounting courses at a variety of times and locations, primarily first and second‑year courses in the accounting transfer and workforce program within the Business Department. Courses include Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Introduction to Accounting, Introduction to Computerized Accounting, Accounting Internship, Computer Accounting Applications, and Cost/Payroll Accounting.
- Use instructional technology within the curriculum and instructional activities. Contribute to development, review, assessment, and maintenance of accounting and business classes.
- Assist in recruitment, retention, advisement, and graduation of students.
- Provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes.
- Engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback to students, and respond to communications promptly.
- Assess student performance, submit final grades by established deadlines, and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations.
- Attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, and complete required training.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual‑credit courses.
- Achieve specific goals and objectives associated with all assigned courses.
- Create a professional and effective learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and public groups.
- Treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice without discrimination.
- Exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of College time and resources.
- Observe College policies and procedures.
