Position Summary
Weatherford College occasionally has openings for adjunct instructors. This continuous recruitment adjunct faculty position adds applicants to a pool available to the departmental search committee for consideration when a need arises during the academic year. When an opening occurs, the hiring manager will draw from the pool on an as‑needed basis. If your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted.

This position is designated as a security‑sensitive position and requires a satisfactory criminal history background check. Males between the ages of 18 through 25 must be properly registered with the Selective Service System to be eligible for employment.
Required EducationAll faculty members must provide minimum Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) credential standards which normally include an earned master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester credit hours in the teaching discipline. Transcripts, certificates, and/or license must be submitted with the application.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties of adjunct faculty include teaching courses in the approved discipline, providing instruction to facilitate student acquisition of specific learning outcomes identified for the assigned courses, and mentoring students in and outside of the classroom. Faculty must maintain an effective learning environment in the modalities of the courses assigned (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online/Zoom, or dual credit instruction). Faculty are expected to provide instruction in both traditional and non‑traditional learning modes, engage in instructional preparation, provide timely feedback, respond to student communications promptly, assess student performance, submit final grades promptly, maintain ethical and professional behavior, be available to students by appointment, attend adjunct faculty meetings, assess courses at departmental and institutional levels, complete any required training, and perform related duties as assigned.

Each adjunct faculty member must demonstrate the ability to instruct in face‑to‑face, hybrid, online, and dual credit courses; provide instruction that achieves the specific goals and objectives of all assigned courses; create a professional and effective learning environment in the classroom and/or laboratory; communicate effectively with students, college personnel, peers, and the public; treat all persons with respect, dignity, and justice, and refrain from discrimination based on age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, or gender identity;
exercise the highest professional and ethical standards in the use of college time and resources; and observe the stated policies and procedures of the college.
